Chosen Love

God loves you and has chosen you as His own special people. So be gentle, kind, humble, meek, and patient. (Colossians 3:12 CEV) 

Hatred stirs up conflicts, but love covers all offenses. (Proverbs 10:12 NLT) 

Lord,

To know that I am special to You fills my heart to overflowing. When I stop to bask in the warmth of Your presence, I am overcome with peace that passes understanding. Keep my heart humble. Instill in me the kindness You would show the hurting. Help me stay in Your sweet spot of love so the fruit of gentleness and patience will be an outpouring of blessing to others. 

With all the conflict in news headlines today, this truth rings louder and clearer than ever. Help me take Your high road to love, even when I’m offended or disagree. Help me to love instead of lash, to be silent instead of spew. I want to be peace on Your behalf and have a heart of love – Your love – so that the evidence of Your grace will be seen by all.  

I ask this in the name and power of Jesus. Amen.
